Week 10 -

Top Games of the Weekend:

Preview and Predictions

The College Football World is filled with great action all weekend. Starting tonight through late Saturday night, we have an amazing lineup of games happening. The weekend schedule is highlighted by 2 potential games of the year, with teams putting their undefeated titles on the line, along with plenty of opportunities to watch a Top 25 team get taken down. Potential upsets on the horizon and there are 4 games left in the regular season.

Oregon State @ Washington TONIGHT 10:30/9:30c -ESPN

Tonight, the Beavers (6-2) are traveling to take on the smoking hot Huskies (6-2) in a battle to separate themselves in the Pac 12 standings as they are knotted up as of now. The University of Washington has always had a good crowd for a big game so expect a solid atmosphere tonight. Oregon State does come in with a Top 50 defense in the country according to NCAA.com, but with the Huskies high scoring offense they could cause some trouble to the Beaver D. After last week's struggle with California, it seems like the Huskies have lost their swagger a bit so I'm expecting the upset here on the road for Oregon State.

Prediction - Oregon State

(2) Tennessee @ (1) Georgia 3:30/2:30c - CBS

Potential game of the year right here. I mean having #1 and #2 meetup this late into the season is a blessing. Tennessee is coming off a dominant 44-6 win over Kentucky last week in a dominate performance. With all the hype coming in, I can only imagine the defending champs are feeling disrespected especially getting their #1 spot was taken away in the latest CFP poll. Not only are these teams' #1 and #2 in the rankings, but they are also the top two offenses in the country. This may be the hardest game of the year to pick a winner, and it is especially hard to pick against the defending champs, but what else does Tennessee have to prove? They have dominated every task they've been handed, and I don't believe a road game in Athens is going to change that.

Prediction - Tennessee

(23) Liberty @ Arkansas 3:30/2:30c - SECN

A sleeper game of the weekend is going to be Liberty (7-1) @ Arkansas (5-3). Liberty is no team to sleep around on, as their only loss of the season came down to a nail biter at Wake Forest early in the year. Liberty has obliterated every opponent they have played so far this year. Arkansas has the number #13 Offense in the country, but has a terrible pass defense this season. Those two things don't go together great.

University of Arkansas Campus - Fayetteville, AR

I believe that Arkansas is the better, more well-rounded team, but it is close. They have one common opponent this year being BYU who they both had comparable scores in blowout victories over the Cougars. I believe Liberty is a good team and deserves respect, but Arkansas is rolling right now, and will continue their win streak in a high scoring game this Homecoming weekend in Fayetteville.

Prediction - Arkansas

(6) Alabama @ (15) LSU 7/6c - ESPN

Two teams that hate each other meeting up in another game that could go down as one of the top games of this season. Alabama comes in at 7-1 against LSU who is coming in at 6-2. LSU has improved every week this year after a rough start to the year taking two early losses.

LSU Campus

Alabama has been dealt with the task of controlling their own destiny for the second year in a row where they cannot afford to take a loss. Alabama coming off a BYE week will be ready for the insane crowd in Baton Rouge Saturday night, and it will be a high scorer where they will pull it out on the road. LSU is a good team that could cause a lot of problems. This game truly is a toss-up, but I will have to choose the winningest coach of all time in this one, Nick Saban.

Prediction - Alabama

Texas @ (13) Kansas State 7/6c - FS1

Kansas State had one of the most shocking final scores of the year last week after dominating and shutting out Oklahoma State. The Wildcats have looked amazing and are not letting up. On the other side of the ball, Quinn Ewers has emerged as one of the best Quarterbacks in the country, throwing over 1000 yards with 11 passing touchdowns already this year. One thing about Texas is they don't get shook on the road which is an amazing quality to have in a team. Kansas State's Defense has just been shutting people down, and it has become their identity, and that will put them over the edge in this matchup.

Prediction - Kansas State

(5) Clemson @ Notre Dame 7:30/6:30c - NBC

This will be a fantastic game. Clemson has been sneaking by within conference games all year, and this may be the last chance of the regular season for them to be exposed with a loss. Yes, Notre Dame has had some terrible games. They are a well-coached team with a lot of young guys, and I think that if Notre Dame can control the pace of the game and not allow Clemson to get hot, they will win the game. The key factor will be how Clemson QB D.J. Ughaleli responds to their physical defense. This Notre Dame Defense is better than most ACC Defenses that the Tigers are used to going against. The Fighting Irish have struggled all year on Offense and that has brought them down. I will say Clemson should get a lot of credit for coming out in the win column week after week even after close games, but Notre Dame has them beat this weekend.

Prediction - Notre Dame

(20) Wake Forest @ (21) NC State 8/7c - ACCN

Wake Forest (6-2) and NC State (6-2) are both fighting for a win here to stay alive and remain in contention for the ACC Championship game. Both teams are currently tied, sitting at third place in the division right behind Clemson, and Syracuse. There is a lot of the season left and each has a chance to sneak in, but a win here is a must. Both of these teams feature some of the best Quarterback play in the country. Funny enough though, both quarterbacks have been struggling the past couple of weeks. It will be interesting to see how they go at it in this late game.

Again, this game is another toss-up between two teams that are very similar. Even with two good Offenses, I can see this being a defensive battle where I will have to go with the home team.

Prediction - NC State
