Week 11 -
Top Games of the Weekend:
Preview and Predictions
The lineup for the college football world this weekend will be just as exciting as last weekend, as there are 4 top ranked matchups for Saturday with potential upsets on the horizon. With only 3 games remaining in the regular season, many teams will be cut from playoff consideration and there a few teams needing to add on to their post-season resume. Still some big games through Thanksgiving weekend, but this weekend sets the stage for who stays in the conversation and who fades away from the CFP talks.
(8) ALABAMA @ (10) OLE MISS 3:30/2:30c - CBS
This will be a huge game for both sides. Some crazy things would have to happen for Alabama to still make the playoffs, but honestly it could still happen. Not without a win here though against a very well coached Ole Miss team who needs this win to boost themselves into the playoff conversation. It's going to be really loud in Oxford, and I expect a great atmosphere. Choosing a winner is hard. Alabama has struggled to stop the run this year and Ole Miss statistically has the best run offense in the SEC. Alabama still does have the best quarterback in the country with Bryce Young, but unfortunately no one besides Jahmyr Gibbs has stepped up.
Prediction - Ole Miss
(28) UCF @ (18) Tulane 3:30/2:30c - ESPN2
These might be my favorite kind of games during the college football season. When two mid-major's meetup with something to prove to the country, it's always a classic. This game reminds me of a situation when Coastal Carolina met up with BYU in 2020. I mean what a game that was. Anyway, this game will be filled with exciting plays, and if I had to guess some extremely chippy plays. Both teams come in with a balanced attack. Tulane puts more points on the board compared to UCF this season. When it comes to resume, Tulane blows UCF out of the park. That is the reason I would go with Tulane; they are simply just more proven than UCF this season.
Prediction - Tulane
(22) Washington @ (6) Oregon 7:00/6:00c - FOX
Bo Nix has been nothing but electric this season. He is one of the leaders for the Heisman right now, and a great performance in primetime against a Top 25 opponent will help his case. When it comes to Oregon as a whole, they have been exposing opposing defenses. On the defensive side of the ball for the Ducks, they have limited teams to around the 20-point mark which is good when your offense can score more than that. Washington has been barely hanging around the last few weeks and I don't see them being the team to take down Oregon on the road. Oregon also needs to use this game to get ready for a bigger contest coming up in the PAC 12 next weekend.
Prediction - Oregon
(4) TCU @ (17) Texas 7:30/6:30c - ABC
TCU is the only undefeated team left out of the BIG 12. They have played in a close game every week this year. Teams that let other teams hang around tend to get beat later in the year. This game is shaping up to be that way. TCU has just refused to pull away from their opponents this year. They cannot let that happen against this Texas team. The Longhorns have one of the best offenses in the country and they will be able to score with TCU. If the Horned Frogs can't take advantage of their opportunities early, they will be out of playoff contention Saturday night before you know it.
Prediction - Texas
