AMERICAN TRADITION
THANKSGIVING
Thanksgiving is celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November in the US each year. The national holiday honors the first feast near Plymouth, Massachusetts between the early settlers and the Native Americans (Wampanoag Tribe) in 1623. The first celebration consisted of shellfish, deer, roasted meats, corn and various plants they had harvested throughout the year, much different than today's traditional meal.
