Game of the Week

LSU 32 vs ALABAMA 31

LSU Campus

No doubt about it, this was the game of the weekend and maybe even the year. Alabama has played in two games of this caliber this season and they couldn't get the win in either one of them.

In a game that was dominated by defense early on and entering halftime with the score at 7-6 and LSU leading, the 2nd Half turned into a back-and-forth thriller that came down to the wire in overtime. In OT, Alabama scored a TD on a long first possession and kicked the extra-point to take the score to 31- 24 Alabama. LSU got the ball back and answered immediately, as QB Jaylen Daniels kept the ball and ran right for 25 yards, only needing one play to find the end zone to go down a point. Then came the decision to go for two and the victory. LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly called a classic pick pass that he ran for years at Notre Dame and Daniels hit Mason Taylor on the short pass to the front right pylon for the win. Wild finish in Baton Rouge and the Tigers move to 7-2 on the year, tied with Alabama in the SEC West. The Tigers have won back-to-back Top 10 matchups in their last two games.
